The Mind Virus

I sometimes have the feeling of being trapped, despite my knowing, my understanding, despite the random flashes of light and the exciting adventures I live in my dreams, that give me the key to the existence of a world where everything is possible, and where there’s no judgement of either evil or good, where everything passes by in the present, as it should. This feeling of captivity is an energetic prison, that only disappears when I am in nature or in the presence of my loved ones. Is this a thing that’s being fed from the outside into my mind or is it something out-springing from my own creation? What is this ‘shadow’ that’s repeatedly taking over my best intentions? Is it the ‘collective subconscious’? Are everybody’s fears gathered together in an invisible cloud somewhere, and do we tap into it, willingly?

We create our own virus, I believe. We are the creators, the perpetrators and the wounded ones, and we are the weapons too. We are the opposite to nothingness, infinite and all there is. It couldn’t be any other way, otherwise we wouldn’t exist, according the universal law of polarity. This is deducted by applying our limited human logical thinking, and thus limiting our understanding, but it could also well be that things just are what they are, with no reason or explanation. Who knows. We can only wander with our own thinking parameters, unless we transcend the limits of our physical mind (that would be another article). But think about the other side of the coin: if we can create fear, we can also create love 🙂

There are many ancient accounts that state that there are evil forces indeed proceeding from the outside, called by many names throughout civilizations: Demons (Christianity), Archons (Gnosticism), Jinn (Arabian mythology and Islam), the Hostile Forces (Yoga), the Predator (Shamanism), Wetiko (Native American Indians)… Many claim to have seen them, and they all take various horrific forms. Now, are these really self-aware independent creatures of other realms, other frequencies, that come to torment and control us, or are they a product of our own fears?

“There are beings in the spiritual realms for whom anxiety and fear emanating from human beings offer welcome food. When humans have no anxiety and fear, then these creatures starve … If fear and anxiety radiates from people and they break out in panic, then these creatures find welcome nutrition and they become more and more powerful.”Rudolf Steiner

“The predators have given us our systems of belief, our ideas of good and evil, our social mores. They are the ones who set up our hopes and expectations and dreams of success or failure. They have given us covetousness, greed, and cowardice. It is the predators who make us complacent, routinary, and egomaniacal … In order to keep us obedient and meek and weak, the predators gave us their mind, which becomes our mind. The predator follows a smart, organized, methodical system to render us useless. Man, the magical being that he is destined to be, is no longer magical. He’s an average piece of meat.”Carlos Castaneda

Again, I am inclined to believe we create them. Whatever their origin may be, we know when we are under the influence of these entities, because we feel disrupted, anxious, depressed, hopeless, angry, stressed, manipulated, weak, dull, ill or dead. Now, this is where our soul work comes into play. If we allow this to empower us, we let ourselves die, energetically and eventually physically. But if we look at them in the face, name them, and recognize them, they will eventually vanish. This is when we no longer fear and we become free.

Once you call something by its name, it loses its power.

Taking responsibility, that’s the real integration work. It’s painful. It’s long. But it’s worth. This happens in Fitness, in Singing and anything that requires a certain mastery. Tips for overcoming the mind virus:

  • Look within, not without.
  • Observe your thoughts, disengage from their emotional influence, rather than becoming them.
  • Save yourself before trying to save others. No one can save you except yourself.
  • Follow your heart and your intuition, rather than your mind.
  • Find your place of power. To me it’s Singing 🙂

We can never destroy the bad, for it is part of the good, it’s just on the other extreme of the ruler. Recognizing and digesting it diminishes its power and puts us more towards the middle of the scale. That’s the key.
