The rain,
splattering excitedly on the window pane.
Its murmur soothes my pain,
each drop falling at its own time,
some rushed, some withholding,
others sliding down peacefully.
Like me, as I now close my eyes to sleep.

Everything is as it should.
Nothing to be about to.
Nothing to oblige.
All allowing, all letting,
as my eyelids hide me from this world,
welcomed by the real one.
